Browser game lag on PC: a simple troubleshooting checklist
Before changing your jump timing, check whether the game is running consistently. A useful test changes one part of your setup at a time.
Identify what feels wrong
Animation stutter means movement looks uneven or briefly stops. An input problem means the animation is moving normally but a press does not appear to do what you expected. A level that will not start at all is a separate loading issue.
Our five games run their movement calculations in your browser. After the game files load, ordinary gameplay does not send each input to a remote game server. A high network ping is therefore not the first explanation to investigate for uneven movement in these games.
Check the game has focus
After selecting a level or clicking a navigation link, the keyboard focus may be on a menu or button. Click the game area before using keyboard controls. On a ready screen, use Play now. During a run, clicking the play area also performs the game action, so choose a safe moment.
Use one control method while testing. Space, Up, and W perform the same action. Holding a key does not generate repeated jumps in Pulse Runner; release it and press again for the next grounded jump. In Vector Flight, holding and releasing have different continuous effects.
Reduce competing work
Close unnecessary video streams and busy browser tabs, then retry the same level. Keep downloads or background work out of the comparison if they make the device busy. If the computer is in a power-saving mode, compare performance while connected to power using its normal settings.
Change one thing, play a short run, and observe whether the animation improved. Avoid installing “game booster” extensions just to test these lightweight games. They add another variable without showing you what caused the original problem.
Try a current browser
Our games use Canvas and JavaScript; the two 3D games also require WebGL 2. If one browser shows a problem, compare the same level in another current browser already available on your device. This can help isolate whether the issue follows the browser or the device.
Fullscreen is optional. It can make the play area easier to see, but it does not guarantee a higher frame rate. If a fullscreen button is unavailable, keep playing in the normal page. On mobile, compare portrait and landscape layouts to find the clearer view.
If the page does not load
Reload once and check that JavaScript is permitted for the site. A failed asset request, content blocker, or interrupted connection can prevent the game from starting. If the problem repeats, note the game name, browser, device, and what was on screen before it failed.
Do not erase all your browsing data as a first step. If you opted into local score saving, clearing this site's storage removes those scores. Read the storage settings page before doing so. Once movement is consistent, return to targeted practice to work on timing.
